We have heard from some of you that your PayPal account has been flagged for PayPal’s new 21-day hold program. We are researching this program and are working diligently with various levels of PayPal’s organization to figure out a solution. Our goal is to get Honeyfund users exempted from the 21-day hold of their Honeyfund gifts—and we are making progress! We were recently given access to a hidden level of PayPal’s interface code which allows us to flag your payments as “services” instead of “goods.” We are working with PayPal to find out if we can further specify your payments as “gifts” which they have previously not allowed us to do.

Know we are doing everything we can, including calling in personal favors, to get through this quagmire with PayPal!

Just wanted to let you know you can now use Honeyfund as an "anything" fund. We’ve allowed you to "hide" the Honeymoon Destination section so can you now register for down payments for a home, furniture, savings for education, you name it! Making all your dreams happen!

Once you complete and publish your registry, you can now click on the Notify Guests tab under the Publish your Honeyfund section to share your published Honeyfund web address.

Of course, you can still easily send e-mails to your guests from this section and create registry card inserts.

We are having trouble with our e-mail services today. Our hosting company tells us from 11 am to 12:30 pm pacific they took down some of the web services as well, which may have resulted in slow performance on our site. They are slowly working to resolve the issue throughout the day. I have been getting and responding to the e-mail I’m getting, but if you have e-mailed and haven’t gotten a response try me at sara at honeyfund.com.

We made some improvements to the gift giving process last night. We’re making it more clear to gift givers when they are committing to a “pledge” and what they will need to do to pay you afterward. Hopefully this will result in fewer canceled gift pledges, and more gifts for you!

Test it out in your account and let us know what you think. You can delete a “test” gift by simply clicking the red X on the Gifts Received page. Then restore the quantity to your registry under Edit your Honeyfund > Registry Details > Registry Items.

As of 8 pm PDT tonight our site is stable again. However our hosting company is still working on the underlying issue so there may be further interruptions.

We have been informed by our hosting company that they are performing an emergency reboot of their systems this evening to resolve the issues from yesterday and today. Our site will be unavailable until that is complete.

The site issues we had yesterday (slowness, 403 Forbidden errors, etc.) were resolved last night by our hosting company. However they tell us this morning that they the e-mail errors have recurred. Basically this means I will be slower to respond to e-mail today until they get this resolved. The website seems to be performing okay and not affected by the mail issues.
